The song "Senyum Membawa Luka" is available in a new version for the film "Kang Solah from Kang Mak X Nenek Gayung."

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Falcon Pictures has released a new version of the legendary dangdut song "Senyum Bawa Luka" as the original soundtrack for its latest comedy-horror film, "Kang Solah from Kang Mak X Nenek Gayung."

The song, popularized by Meggy Z in the late 1980s, has been rearranged with a fresh feel, while still maintaining a nostalgic element.

Interestingly, this time, the song is performed by six Indonesian comedians: Andre Taulany, Rigen Rakelna, Indra Jegel, Tora Sudiro, Praz Teguh, and Indro Warkop.

They not only sing but also incorporate their own distinctive comedic styles, creating a combination of sadness, laughter, and nostalgia.

Falcon Pictures producer, Frederica, said they wanted to present the legendary song in a different, yet memorable, format.

"When these six characters come together, the result can make the recording studio feel like a stand-up comedy stage. The audience can feel the emotions, but also remain entertained," she said.

Andre Taulany admitted to difficulties during the recording process due to the song's unique rhythm and the difficulty of Meggy Z's signature cengkok. "Luckily, we had a vocal coach, Mas Ade, who helped us," he said.

This new version of "Senyum Bawa Luka" is expected to evoke memories for listeners who have known her since the 1980s and 1990s, while also offering a new perspective for younger audiences.

Meanwhile, the film "Kang Solah from Kang Mak X Nenek Gayung" is scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide starting September 25, 2025.
