JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Singer Virgiawan Listanto, also known as Iwan Fals, performed a duet with Isyana Sarasvati on the song "Bunga Terakhir."

The song was chosen for the soundtrack of the animated film Panji Tengkorak.

Frederica, a producer from Falcon Pictures, had her own reasons for choosing the song written by Bebi Romeo as the soundtrack for Panji Tengkorak.

"The song's lyrical selection represents the story of Panji Tengkorak, who, in the story, chooses black magic for his true love," said Erica at a press conference in South Jakarta on Thursday (August 7, 2025).

Regarding the selection of Iwan Fals and Isyana Sarasvati, Erica felt that the two characters also embodied the DNA of the animated film.

Panji Tengkorak is an intellectual property (IP) adapted from a classic comic.

Iwan Fals and Isyana Sarasvati were deemed suitable to represent the original DNA of Panji Tengkorak, a classic work with a modern twist.

"So perhaps the first reason we chose Iwan and Isyana is because we believe the DNA of Panji Tengkorak is a classic comic that we need to preserve," explained Erica. "We wanted to choose singers who could represent this Indonesian DNA," she continued.

The film, Panji Tengkorak, features a voice cast that includes Denny Sumargo, Aghniny Haque, Donny Alamsyah, Cok Simbara, Nurra Datau, Revaldo, Donny Damara, Prit Timothy, and Tanta Ginting.

The film will be released in theaters across Indonesia starting August 28, 2025.

The latest version of the song "Bunga Terakhir" will be released digitally on all music platforms starting August 7, 2025.
