CODA Was Successful at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, Original Version Shows on KlikFilm, See the Synopsis
06 Juni 2023

TRIBUNNEWS.COM - The CODA film made a brilliant achievement at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival by winning four trophies for different categories.

Not in vain did Apple TV buy the rights to a French film called La Famille Bélier to be remade into a CODA film at a price of 25 million USD (more than Rp. 350 billion).

Now, the original version of the CODA film entitled La Famille Bélier can be watched legally in Indonesia via the KlikFilm digital platform.

Frederica, Director of KlikFilm explained, KlikFilm always tries to present good films that are available everywhere, to quench the thirst of film lovers in Indonesia.

"The presence of the film La Famille Bélier is a proof of the existence of KlikFilm to continue presenting good films and we will present many more surprises," said Frederika.

The film La Famille Bélier itself tells the story of Paula (Louane Emera) who grew up in a farming and livestock environment.

His parents, Rodolphe Belier (Francois Damien) and Gigi (Karin Viard), are both deaf and mute.

His younger brother, Quentin (Luca Gelberg) suffered a similar fate. At school, Paula gets along well with Mathilde (Roxane Duran).

One day, there is a choir audition that requires participants to show off their vocals in front of the teacher, Mr. Thomasson (Eric Elmosnino).

Mathilde was turned down because her voice was deemed a disaster. But Paula was accepted on the grounds that she has a good alto. In that class, Paula knows Gabriel (Ilian Bergala), who is handsome and quiet.

Feeling that he had harmonic vocals, Thomasson matched them up on the song "I Will Love You." Thomasson also reported that there were vocal auditions in France.

The genius of this film lies in the idea of placing teenagers with singing talents in a family environment where neither can hear nor speak.

It's hard to convince deaf-mute parents that their daughter is good at singing.

Throughout the film, the acting and narrative are the key attractions. We can easily guess where this kind of family-based story will lead.

Unexpectedly, Eric's cleverness saved a "dessert" in the form of a time-chasing scene and the atmosphere in the audition room.

What broke my heart was when Paula decided to sing while using sign language. Ambyar is already the heart of the audience.

Paula's father and mother's eyes filled with tears. When they finished singing, they stood up and shouted "Bravo, bravo!" although the pronunciation is not clear.

Really, this scene was unexpectedly draining the heart and tears. There is still one more scene that you should see for yourself.

A final chapter that relieves and brings us to a classic understanding, family is everything.
